East Palestine train derailment is a mass-disabling ecological disaster

What happened in East Palestine, Ohio is already out of the capitalist news cycle, but its impact is still being felt. The root cause of events like this still has yet to be solved, so the cycle will be repeated. Disability will continue to be used to render people disposable.

Capitalism prioritizes profits, not people.

What happened in East Palestine, Ohio is already out of the capitalist news cycle, but its impact is still being felt. The root cause of events like this still has yet to be solved, so the cycle will be repeated.

Disability will continue to be used to render people disposable.

Members of the working class are worked to the point where they can no longer produce because of mass disability, and these events are more likely to happen in working-class areas, because workers are considered disposable and less valuable.

It's a constant cycle of ableist "leftists" not caring about Disability Justice until a major disaster occurs, which is when they attempt to gain social capital for pretending to care about Disability Justice. While they try to make their elementary analyses sound "deep" and "innovative", us Disabled people are still being pushed out of labor movements.

Abuse of workers and the prioritizing of profits over people inevitably lead to disasters like East Palestine, where the toxic chemicals spilled will lead to millions of newly Disabled people in a socioeconomically poor area, with no way to fight against their material conditions.

People never cared about the disabling of workers in Ohio or the shit working conditions there until it became a hot topic to jump on now.

They never care about how Disability Justice and labor justice are intertwined, unless it's to make a basic analysis when it's convenient.

East Palestine lies in an area considered economically dying. Therefore, its people are more easily disposed of, disabled, and fucked over. They have no power to fight back, and if injustices are covered up, companies can easily get away with minimal financial impact to them.

Environmental disasters because of capitalist greed have widespread impact.

This train derailment, contaminating the water, will lead to mass disability for generations after this event.

Remember Flint, Michigan?

Yeah.

They still don't have clean water.

The lead contamination in the local water supply is still disabling people — specifically, the impoverished Black people who can't afford to move out.

Moving out of East Palestine is not an option for the impoverished and Disabled.

Do we expect people to just keep mass migrating out of areas with ecological disasters?

How many refugees has this created in the Global South?

Expecting people to just move out is simply a way to avoid responsibility for disabling and displacing the most vulnerable people.

With Flint, they lied that the water was "safe".

The same thing is happening with the contaminated Ohio River.

How many more
mass-disabling
ecological disasters

does the usameriKKKan government
have to lie about & cover up
for ableist "leftists"

to begin incorporating
genuine Disability Justice

into their so-called
"anti-capitalist"
& "harm reduction"
movements?
